What ESLS actually covers
ESLS serves technician-level-or-below shortages in general industries, and explicitly excludes posts covered by the care-worker special scheme and the sector-specific schemes for construction and transport. Catering, retail, hotels and beauty are within ESLS.
Construction and transport
Both sectors run their own importation schemes with dedicated quotas, ratios and approval arrangements published by the responsible departments. Companies should first confirm which scheme a post belongs to, then file through the matching channel.
